Ms Sharon Staley, Chief of the Infrared Branch, MASINT Exploitation Division, Directorate of Data Exploitation, National Air Intelligence Center (NAIC) was selected the 1999 Local Manager of the Year by the Van Kuren Chapter of the National Management Association (NMA). Ms Staley manages 43 dynamic, mostly junior individuals in one of NAIC's fastest growing disciplines - Measurement and Signatures Intelligence (MASINT). Under her guidance, teams of junior engineers have taken three major sensor programs from R&D to Fully Operational Capability.

Ms Staley's heartfelt concern for those around her extends beyond the confines of NAIC. Ms Staley has held high level positions in her church, adult bowling leagues, and the Huber Heights Soccer Association as well as actively participating in the Dayton area Special Wish Foundation. Active involvement in her community and a genuine interest in the concerns and joys of co-workers have endeared Ms Staley to her subordinates.

Her leadership attributes and management style set a high standard of excellence and she provides inspiration to those fortunate enough to work with her and follow in her footsteps.
