Chapter President

The role of the NMA chapter president is, in many ways, comparable to that of an industrial or service organization chief operating executive. Each receives broad objective and basic policies from the board of directors which must be translated into action-related goals for the team. Each delegates operational responsibilites and assigns measurable goals to a team of leaders. Both must be alert to the needs and desires of the public, but cannot allow themselves to be pressured into serving the few at the expense of the many.

For our chapter, the office of President is a One (1) year term. The following are the Duties of the Chapter President:

  1. Satisfactorily operate the Chapter in accordance with the Constitution and the Bylaws established by the Board of Directors.

  2. Establish an organizational structure and staff it.

  3. Preside at all regular and special membership meetings of the Chapter.

  4. Sign all written contracts of the Chapter (with the Vice President of Administration) as authorized by the Board of Directors.

  5. Appoint all committee Chairpersons.

Additional information is available in the NMA Chapter President's Training Guide. President training is also available during Chapter Management Conferences (CMC).
