VAN KUREN CHAPTER OFFICER,
and CHAIRPERSON MEETING MINUTES
10 June 1999
Attendees: Raelynn Bryan, Billye Geisinger, Darlene Routhier, Kent Bierley; Board Members: Bill Bartlett
- Mangement Week in Ameria Plans:
- Proclamations: The chapter has received 19 signed proclamations and
Wright Chapter received 4. Good work Kent, getting those out to the cities.
- Display Case: Rae, Billye and Kent worked on the display case -
the proclamations are in there as well as the plaques for team achievement,
manager of the year, and a certification of completion for all ten SMS
courses, pictures, etc. If you have time please take a look at it.
- Luncheon: Remember it is on 14 Jun at Rousch?s on Main. We have
reservations for 45. That is great!!!!!
- Lifetime Memberships will be presented to Ralph Fargnoli, retired Jan 99,
and Shirley Harris, retired Jun 99. Rae called and they will be there to
receive the membership.
- Manager of the Year: There were 4 outstanding write-ups for the Award.
The board had a very hard time choosing the winner and we are keeping
it TOP SECRET until the luncheon.
- Programs: Rae will put the programs together. Mr Benson will do the
invocation. Rae will MC.
- Press Release: Kent will handle that. He is to have Rae?s concurrence
before sending out. Advised to keep it under a page with the main point
being the Manager of the Year Winner. He will also send a press release
with regards to all cities that signed the Management of the Week
proclamation.
- Plaque: Rae and Billye will pick up the plaque on Monday morning. Also,
Capt Ashby approved the proposed site of the placement of the Manager of
the Year plaque for the building. We will order and have names placed on
it and hung soon.
- Misc: Billye and Rae will take pictures. If there is anything else the
officers can think of, get in touch with Rae.
- Program Committee:
- The auditorium is still unavailable. The May Program on the Certified
Managers Program had seven participants to hear Jan Coffey and Bill
Bartlett. The Jun program will be the Awards Banquet.
- Billye is working with Aurea Rivera and Betsy
Witt to set up a Mentoring Program for CCEP. It was recommended to do a
2-hour presentation.
- Professional Development: SMS class is finishing up. Rae has spoken
to the facilitators and students and they have been very positive about
the sessions.
- Membership Committee: Membership Drive is scheduled for Jul, which
will involve an Open House and Fund Raiser. Billye and Darlene are looking
for ideas for the fundraiser.
- Awards and Recognition Committee: R-1's are up to date.
- American Enterprise Committee:
- Super Saturday: As the organization responsible
for Super Saturday this year, NAIC is looking for 200 volunteers
to participate on 7 Aug 99.
- Shoe Box: Discussed doing Christmas in July and having this part of
the Membership Drive. Billye will look into this. We believe there will
be a better response to doing it then rather than waiting until Nov.
- Public Relations: Newsletter has been approved and will be sent to
all members. Start sending Brenda new articles for the Jul/Aug issue.
- Board Meeting News: The board will put together the information
about the elections of the 1999-2000 officers. Nominations will be 11 Jul
and the election, 14 Jun. Looking at doing the installation of officers at
the membership drive.
