VAN KUREN CHAPTER OFFICER,

and CHAIRPERSON MEETING MINUTES

24 September 1998


Attendees: Raelynn Bryan, Billye Geisinger, Darlene Routhier, Kent Bierley, Bill Bartlett

  1. National Convention: As of today, all five individuals will be going. However, there are still some problems with the funding. Bill Bartlett informed NMA HQ that there is a time problem regarding funding and they assured us that we would still be able to participate.

  2. Raelynn informed the officers of CCs request for inputs to Master Plan that is due today. She asked the officers to review the Master Plan and send any input to Bill Bartlett, who will be compiling the officers inputs with the boards into one.

  3. Still awaiting the survey results of the Covey seminar. All, who attended, enjoyed the seminar.

  4. Brenda Cooper will be the recorder for Novembers meeting.

  5. Billye has put a flyer up on the bulletin board announcing our awards and who in NAIC are current of NMA.

  6. Still waiting on information regarding the status of the Professional Development Program.

  7. CTFO asked Billye to get information about status of CTFO and its accomplishments out to the workforce. She informed the group that there are now two CTFOs running at different levels.

  8. American Enterprise:
    • Kent participated in the Air Force Marathon.

    • Billye has sent the information out to the organization about Operation Christmas Child via the Announcement Board, the CC Exec Officer and flyers on the bulletin boards. Raelynn announced that NAIC was again participating in the American Heart Walk and if anyone was interested to get with her.

    • NAIC is in charge of Super Saturday (a day of fun for under privileged children of Dayton that the base sponsors). After speaking to the person in charge of last years program, Raelynn highly recommended to the members, due to the extensive commitment required, not volunteering to be the chairman. However, she does highly encourage all to volunteer for Super Saturday activities.

    • Raelynn received the Speech Contest package for 1999. She will review it and turn it over to Kent. She has asked Kent to get additional copies for different high schools and the officers will distribute personally to their area high schools if possible. Raelynn will take care of Kettering. She high encouraged each officer inform the high schools that this year Fulter Hong, Beavercreek graduate, is a National Finalist.

  9. Still need to get the publicity on selection of Manager of the Year out to the Spokesman, Skywriter, and local paper of Mr Weddles town.

  10. Web Page needs to be updated with announcements of the 1998 Manager of the Year, Chapter Awards, and Team Awards. Also the chapter calendar and contact address need to be updated. She thanked Kent for sending members the Federal News Digest and reminding them that to continue receiving it they must be a member of NMA.

  11. Bill Bartlett would like to give the NMA briefing to the commander before 12 Oct 98.

  12. Sherri Provens has volunteered to audit the Financial Records.

  13. Kent and Bill attended the Buckeye Council Meeting in Columbus on 15 Sep. They came back with interesting information about an upcoming new training program for chapters to increase membership and visibility. Also, with information about the possibility of dues being increased Bill will send a message to headquarters discouraging this. Also the speech contest fee may be increased.
