VAN KUREN CHAPTER OFFICER,

and CHAIRPERSON MEETING MINUTES

18 June 1998

Attendees: Larry Benson (Exec Advisor), Raelynn Bryan, Billye Geisinger, Bill Bartlett, Joe Horine, Kent Bierley

  1. Very pleased with the response to the Proclamations for Management Week. We had signed proclamations from our organization, AIA, and 88th WG (Base Commander), and the cities of Kettering, Miamisburg, Fairborn, West Carrollton, Trotwood. Good work Kent. Next year the goal is to have the proclamations out a month in advance.

  2. Management Week was very successful. We had a good crowd at the Open House. It was too bad that we could have videotaped that session. We received many kudos for bringing in Fulter. Also Mr Benson, Mr Setchell, and Mr Steve Bailey did an excellent job. Again, we needed it on video something to look at next year.

  3. Membership Drive: Still need a flyer to get out the word to the workforce. Raelynn put it on the Announcement Board and also sent out a reminder to the membership. She asked that each office or chairperson talk to one person about joining NMA. We do have a person now who is willing to be the chair Darlene Routhier.

  4. Awards Luncheon: The luncheon was held at Rouschs. We all enjoyed ourselves. The Team Award was given to the Programs committee for the excellent programs we have had in the past year. A appreciation gift was given to Lt Col Foster for his help with the CTFO and other areas. Also a appreciation gift was given to Mr Benson for his constant support and advice. Installation of the 19980-1999 Officers was performed by Mr Benson. Throughtout the luncheon, Raelynn had expressed her appreciation to the officers who were her team. That teamwork was the only reason that the chapter is working to help NAIC and that she is depending on that momemtum to continue.

  5. Manager of the Year was named at the Awards Luncheon. We were very pleased that Mr Don Weddle was the recipient this year. We will work at having his award presented to him again by CC at Wed Staff Meeting. In the meantime, Kent needs to do a write up for the Skywriter, Spokesman, and Mr Weddles local paper.

  6. July Program - 7 Habits of Effective People Overview. Went over very well. We will have another session of that type after Covey comes and presents its program.

  7. Reinventing NMA: We have a new board that have some new and exciting ideas. Looking forward to seeing what that team comes up with. The briefing is about ready the goals is to have it briefed to the commmander before Covey gets here.

  8. Buckeye Council Next meeting is the 7th of Jul where they will be giving out the Silver Knight Award. More information to follow.

  9. Miscellaneous: Mr Benson has suggested that we look into putting a comprehensive program together for career development and training. He suggested that we get together with MSC and form a team to accomplish this.

  10. Raelynn expressed to all present that each chairperson was just as important as the officers. Each member of the team is talented in their own way and should be allowed to do their jobs effectively with out interference from other members unless asked. Remember we are a team, lets work together as one. She is looking forward to the new year and will be looking forward to continued excellent support.
