VAN KUREN CHAPTER OFFICER, CHAIRPERSON,

and EXECUTIVE ADVISOR MEETING MINUTES

18 November 1997


Attendance: Raelynn Bryan, Bill Bartlett, Kent Bierley, Joe Horine, Larry Benson

  1. Raelynn asked Larry Benson, Executive Advisor, to be the chapters champion with upper management. He agreed.
  2. Passed out the officers zip kits to each individual and asked them to review the information.
  3. A plaque was given to Col Wolfe on 30 Oct 97 at his retirement ceremony by Mr Benson. Col Wolfe was surprised. Thanks to Bill Bartlett and Mr Benson for the write up.
  4. Dr Dollar was given a memento and letter a his retirement on 31 Oct 97 for his contributions to the chapter through the years at NMA. Dr Dollar has expressed his appreciation to Raelynn Bryan for the gift.
  5. Nancy Burns is in the process of setting up SMS and AMS classes for 1998. Raelynn asked Bill Bartlett to begin a Certified Managers class in the near future.
  6. CTFO program for New Workshop Members will begin on 24 Nov directed by Col Foster (CAG). CAG is looking at Phil Lathrop`s group to be the test group. However, it has been determine that any change in organization has to come from within. The original CTFO is continuing.
  7. Monthly Meeting: 25 Nov DIA relationship to NAIC with Larry Benson and Dave Eskins, and Dec will probably be a Christmas party for the chapter.
  8. Operation Shoe Box deadline is 21 Nov 97. Billye Geisinger and Kent Bierley are the points of contact. Information has been posted on bulletin boards and the Announcement Board. Short suspense date due to CFC.
  9. Salvation Army: Kent Bierley is having trouble getting in touch with them. Dates to consider are 13 Dec and 20 Dec.
  10. Nancy Burns participated in the Carl's Coats for Kids in October.
  11. Speech Contest registration has been sent in for the joint Wright Chapter and Van Kuren Chapter participation. 14 Mar 98 is the date for the contest at the Dayton Library. In Jan the speech contest information will be sent to area schools.
  12. Financial Report: Our finances are dwindling and we need towork on this for operating costs. Bill Bartlett will send Raelynn Bryan the financial statement.
  13. Buckeye Council had a tour of water plant that was informative. Next meeting will be in Feb and we will need Chapter involvement. Recommend a museum tour. Also the Gold Knight nominations will be due.
  14. Miscellaneous: CMC will be in April in Baltimore.
