Chapter Officers & Chairperson Meeting Minutes - 8 April 1997

1. The Chapter Officers & Chairpersons met at 1400 on Tuesday, 8 April, 1997.
2. Monthly Program Status: We have Dr Long presenting "Effective Communication" in Apr 97. In May, our Commander, Col Dumm is scheduled to be guest speaker. In June, we will have our Yearly Banquet and hopefully, we will get our Council Level Speech Contest winner as guest speaker. In July, we'll try to set a briefing on the Innovative Center by Stu Cart. Bill Bartlett is working to prepare slides for Stu Cart.
3. Legality of the Chapter: We still have not received the needed paperwork from Wright Chapter. Raelynn will help Billye trap down the appropriate people.
4. CMC: The CMC is coming up 1-3 May 97. Raelynn and Billye have been laying the groundwork through our organization to gain funding for at least one individual to attend. We are hoping for three attendees; 1 NMA Member, 1 NMA Officer, and 1 NMA Board Member. However, we feel some new individuals should go for the training--its such a great learning experience, so we have established a ground-rule that if you have previously attended a CMC or National then you are ineligible for the May CMC.
5. Management Week in America: This will be celebrated 17 June 1997. Our Chapter has a lot to do and we need everyone's cooperation. We need the Proclamation prepared and signed. The display case (in front lobby) reserved and then set up at the end of May. Raelynn is working on setting up a lunchtime Banquet during this week. Joe Horine is preparing certificates and any other needed awards. Billye has prepared a Local Manager of the Year program and is soliciting nominees.
6. Public Relations Committee: Wanda has the bugs worked out of our electronic Newsletter program. A copy of the first newsletter is available and she is soliciting items for the next paper. She conducted a contest for changing the name of the newsletter and is anxiously awaiting the next publication to announce the winner. Wanda will Email a copy of the published newsletter to members, send a hardcopy to Raelynn so it can be mailed to lifetime members, and present a copy to Kent Bierley so it may be added to our Web Page. Kent will help Wanda shift the information to system to handle all this.
7. Vice-President of Administration: Joyce Martin is researching all the available material to enable her to begin conducting a New Member Indoctrination Program. This program will be for new, old, and potential members. All officers will be presenting their areas. Let's see some enthusiasm for Joyces' efforts.
8. Financial Report: Bill Bartlett is looking at the books and trying to get all areas balanced. We did have a problem where it appeared that Van Kuren Chapter was charged for items order by Wright Chapter.
9. Tour: Bill Bartlett is working to arrange a tour to HQ for our Chapter in June.
10. Buckeye Council: There will not be a meeting in April or May. The next meeting will be in June in Columbus Ohio. The Gold Knight Award will be presented.
