Board of Directors Meeting Minutes - 10 February 1998
ATTENDEES: Shirley Harris,
Michael Bachmann,
Larry Orcutt,
Kent Bierley,
Billye Geisinger,
Raelynn Bryan
- January Board Meeting Minutes were approved as written.
- No volunteers for Officer Election Committee
- Chapter Goals have been approved and a copy will be provided to Joe Horine for
documentation. Kent will load a copy onto our Van Kuren Chapter Web Page.
- The Van Kuren Chapter needs to hone our Marketing Tools. We are providing a great
service within NAIC, but the word is not getting to the workforce or managers. If the
managers cannot or will not recognize our contributions, maybe we should quit spinning
our wheels. We will work on marketing.
- Our Chapter was audited and everything is fine.
- CMC is coming up. The officers will provide the information to all Chapter members.
- The Workforce program in February will be "Journey to Genius" facilitated by Mr
Robert Lovegren. The Workforce program in March will be "Landmark Forum Overview"
and we have representatives from Cincinnati coming to give the program.
- Buckeye Council will meet tomorow at Grub Steak, 6:00-6:30pm in Beavercreek. This
is in our backyard so everyone should try to attend.
- Reinventing NMA: Larry Orcutt is going to take the lead on getting a Marketing
Briefing together. He also will discuss this issue with our two Chapter Advisors, Larry
Benson and Aurea Rivera. The current board members. the current advisors, and current
officers will start meeting every possible Monday to get our marketing ideas rolling.
- Everyone is cautioned not to volunteer for too many NMA or other volunteer
activities. Some of our members also belong to other NAIC organizations and if they get
overwhelmed with Chapter activities, their performance on the job suffers. Be sure your
priorities are correct. The NMA Chapter does individuals a world of good, but if you don't
get your work accomplished as assigned by your supervisor, the Chapter will receive a
negative image.
- Meeting was adjourned.
