The highlights of this report are:
  • Waterfowl
  • Northern Goshawk
  • First-of-season Tree Swallows

On March 5, first of the season Tree Swallows were seen at Spring Valley Wildlife Area, while Common Grackles were observed at the gravel pit on Roxanna-New Burlington Rd.

A immature Northern Goshawk continues to be seen at an Englewood residence.

Observed at Killdeer Plains on March 3rd were 46 species, including Eastern Meadowlark, Horned Lark, Northern Shrike, Lesser Scaup, Hooded Merganser; Ring-necked and Black Duck; Mallard, Redhead, American Wigeon, Gadwall, Canvasback, Green-winged Teal, and Northern Bobwhite.

On March 3rd, Lesser Scaup and Common Goldeneye were seen at Eastwood MetroPark, while Eastern Bluebirds were observed at Englewood MetroPark and Aullwood Gardens.

On March 3rd, Killdeer were seen overhead at Spring Valley Wildlife Area.

On March 2nd, seen at Buck Creek State Park were White-fronted Goose, Tundra Swan; Common, Hooded and Red-breasted Merganser; Lesser and Greater Scaup; and Northern Pintail.

On March 2nd, observed at Killdeer Plains were Tundra, Mute and Trumpeter Swan; Bald Eagle, Rough-legged Hawk, Northern Harrier; Long-eared and Short-eared Owl; Lapland Longspur, Horned Lark and Snow Bunting.

A Yellow-rumped Warbler was seen at Hills & Dales MetroPark on February 24th.

On February 23rd, seen at Englewood MetroPark were Hermit Thrush and Canvasback.

On February 23rd, Pine Siskins were seen at a private feeder in Trotwood.
