THE DAS BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12 HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF BAD WEATHER. THE MEETING HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, SAME TIME, SAME PLACE (7:30 PM, HARRIGAN AUTO CENTER RESERVE, 475 CONGRESS PARK DR.)


The highlights of this report are:
  • Red-throated Loon
  • Marsh Wren
  • Sandhill Crane

Sandhill Cranes were seen flying over Town & Country Shopping Center today and several hundred Snow Buntings were observed on Walnut Grove Rd. near Troy.

Seen at Spring Valley Wildlife Area on February 12th were Marsh Wren; White-throated, White-crowned, American Tree and Song Sparrow; Purple Finch, American Wigeon, American Coot and Northern Harrier.

A Red-throated Loon was observed at Caesar Creek Lake February 9th.

At Killdeer Plains that same day seen were Long-eared Owl, Greater White-fronted Goose, Snow Geese in both phases, Trumpeter Swan, American Black Duck, Northern Pintail, Hooded Merganser, Lesser Scaup, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Rough-legged Hawk, Horned Lark and Red-winged Blackbird.
