Rare Bird Alert

The highlights of this report are:
  • Common Goldeneye
  • Hermit Thrush
  • Snow Goose

Observed on January 21 at Englewood Metropark were Common Goldeneye, Hermit Thrush, Northern Cardinal, Song Sparrow, American Goldfinch, Belted Kingfisher, Carolina Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, and Tufted Titmouse.

Birds seen on January 20th along the Great Miami River were Ring-billed Gull, Herring Gull, Hooded Merganser, Ring-necked Duck, Pied-billed Grebe, and American Coot. Birds seen at Caesar Creek State Park were Red-shouldered Hawk and Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Observed on January 18th at Englewood Metropark were Northern Pintail, Green-winged Teal, and Northern Shoveler. At the North Park, Blue Phase Snow Goose was seen.

On January 14th, a Winter Wren was reported from Hills and Dales Park. Also, from January 13th to 19th, a Purple Finch and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker were reported in Germantown.
