The highlights of this report are:

The Dayton Audubon
Society Christmas Bird Count was held December 30th. Sixty five species
were recorded comprised of 19,136 birds. Among the sightings were Merlin,
Peregrine Falcon, Lesser Scaup; Screech, Barred and Long-eared Owl; an
unusual number of Tufted Titmice, 18 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 4,103 Canada
Geese, and 1,486 Mallards.
On January 2nd Horned Lark, Lapland Longspur, Snow Bunting, and
White-crowned Sparrow were seen north of Greeneville on Beam Rd.
Observed on December 30th at the Darke Wildlife area were Winter Wren
and 2 Screech Owls. |
